The Young Actors Workshop – New Year, New Me

PLT offers a winter training experience in the art and craft of acting. Young actors have the opportunity to learn the skills of building characters and expressing interior emotions physically and vocally. Each group will go through the rehearsal process and perform their production on the main stage. Students discover not only how to express themselves individually but also how to work as an ensemble, gaining valuable leadership skills while having fun and making friends.

Dates: Monday, December 29 – Friday, January 2.

Times: 9 AM- 4 PM

Fees: Early Bird: $250 until December 15th with Final Price being $275. This is flexible, if it’s easier to have just one price use $250 across the board.

Theme: New Year New Me: A Resolution Reality Show!

Join us for a New Year’s Theater Workshop where campers will participate in creating a reality TV show following a cast of characters with comical and challenging New Year’s Resolutions. Campers will invent unique characters, like “Gordon the Grump” who resolves to be nice, or “Penelope the Procrastinator” who decides to be punctual.

Additional activities will include theater exercises and improv games creating fun scenarios which will include a game show where characters try to win by sticking to their resolutions or scenes where they fail spectacularly.

BONUS: this workshop will celebrate another country’s New Year’s Eve Traditions so campers will learn about how other countries ring in the New Year.

The week will wrap with a showcase for family on Friday at 4 PM.
